The Museum's rooms house and exhibit hundreds of artifacts, models, photos and reconstructions donated by the barcari, who for decades plied the canals and rivers of the Veneto region, transporting goods and people from Vicenza to the Venice Lagoon.
A place of inestimable ethnographic and anthropological value, its purpose is to preserve the memory of practices and traditions linked to an economic world and a social system that no longer exist, but whose strength and legacy want to be handed down to form the foundation and stimulus for generations to come.
The Museum is open to all visitors and to schools of all levels, which it caters to with dedicated itineraries and fun recreational and educational workshop activities.
